Default Paper: Jujutsu, Judo and Jiu-jitsu: A Historical Comparison of Terms

A few days ago I posted some graphs showing some searches I did using Google's Ngram Viewer in the BJJ vs. TJJ thread. This is a topic that has come up more than a few times for me both in-person and the cybertubes during the past few years so I decided to organize it a little better and cite some references.

This is the result. I've opened it up for a short review/comment period on Academia.edu and would welcome input, comments, corrections, etc.

The session can be found at the following link: https://www.academia.edu/14995625/Ju...rison_of_Terms

You should tell people that registration is compulsory. People don't like links that lead to forced registration.

Duly noted. Thank you. I figured if someone didn't want to register they could just post here.

Much like on this forum, I find that feedback and comments tend to be more well thought out and better reasoned when tied to a name/person.

Five days left to tell me how I got it all wrong.

As noted above, an academia.edu account is required to participate. I'll be checking sources.

While jujitsu was created on the battlefield by warriors, judo was created in peacetime for peaceful purposes. In its early years, judo was considered nothing more than one of the various styles of jujitsu.
