Hi,

I'm a new member and new Iaido student. I'm in my late 40's and do not have much martial arts training (besides some judo when I was a boy). I'm also interested in studying Aikido in the future, but for now I plan to concentrate on Iaido.

I live in the Houston area.

Thanks for the welcome! I'm training with Houston San Shin Kai near downtown. The style is MSR, although I have no idea what is the difference between the styles.

Last I knew, it was Craig Hocker teaching at the San Shin Kai in Houston. Never met him, but we had conversations on-line and I've heard good things about him from others.

Yes, HSSK is still run by Hocker Sensei. I like him, he knows his stuff and I feel very welcome at class. Small group, so getting a lot of one-on-one instruction from him.
