Default Commercial Links in E-Budo Signatures...

Just a reminder for new members registering on E-Budo, that links to commercial sites and products are not permitted in your signature. Please use the signature function to create a permanent signature for your full name (or first initial and full surname). You may also use the function for a favorite saying or expression, or other creative (but tasteful) verbiage. You can even put in a link to a personal (non-commercial) page.

But, no commercial sites or products are permitted. These are considered to be spam.

    Thank you.

If they register with such a signature, 99.9% they are a spam bot. Just ban them out of hand.

True, and we do. Just posting this in the event that someone posts -- deliberately or not -- a commercial site or business, their own or others' as a legitimate subscriber, I am posting this cautionary statement.

That needs to be clarified. Peter Boylan links to his Budogu.com. That is a commercial site.

That is not and should not be disallowed.

You are right. Commercial sites that deal directly in bugei-related products are permitted. However, sites for health products, real estate, computer software and electronics, etc., etc. are not permitted. Budo ONLY. You may link to your own budo-related business.

Thanks for the clarification - I wanted to make sure the good stuff was allowed.

Absolutely! Just separating the wheat from the chaff. Or the spare ribs from the SPAM.
