Question Any recommendation for kids in Seattle???

There are a ton of 'dojo's' in Seattle, but I am struggling to find one that is traditional Japanese and teaches kids. Ideally I want to start my boys (ages 4 and 7) with a very active and less meditative art from just because they need energy outlets. If they become disciplined in their art, I would probably move them into aikido when they get older. Eventually, I'd like them to be introduced the various forms of Japanese martial arts.

Any suggestions on where I can get them started? willing to separate them, but prefer a place that will teach both, even if at different times.

    Thanks so much!

The oldest judo dojo in the country, more old-school than most places in Japan - http://www.seattledojo.org
The aikido/BJJ school of Bruce Bookman. Great kid's teacher - both BJJ and aikido - I've seen the classes - lots of fun, and solid info https://www.tenzanaikido.com/startin...riptions.shtml

We all have our favorites...here's mine:

You would be fortunate, living in Seattle, to get your kids here; Akio Minakami is the head of Hayashi-ha Shito Ryu for all of North America, and one of the world's leading teachers.

And if you're not familiar with Karate-do Shito Ryu, here's a sampling of what your boys could be doing after a few years of practice: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0xf6a9tGzXE

+1, my old internet friend Karen Nagai teaches there. I think judo is one of the best martial arts for small children. Very physical, lots of different drills they can do to keep them interested, and kids naturally love to wrassle.
