Default Old Judo Friend Found after 40 Years

Hum, after giving up looking for an old USAF Judo friend, Len Vieira, he found me on FB. He was stationed at Homestead AFB, FL when I knew him and in 1977 he transferred to Hawaii before retiring. We are at long last in contact and having a great time chatting about the good old days. Great to have friendships renewed after 40 years! Guess like me he stopped doing Judo, but we had a great life in Judo before.

It is good to hear of your recontact. I have given up on recontacting some of my old judo friends. I still write to Pat Goldsworthy who taught me most of my judo. Walt Conlon has vanished, Ree C. Fitspatrick, Willey Peavy, Jerry Dean have disappeared to me also. My kata partner, whose name I am not sure of the spelling, I have yet to find. All good men and good judoka.

Yeah Dave, it seems like so many old Judo buddies drop off the edge and are never heard from again. Our problem is we lived too long

My Mom used to say that getting old was a lot of work, since you had to keep replacing all the friends who dropped off before you!

I'm not replacing any of my friends. Pretty soon I'll be a lone wolf, and when I die no one will have to try to replace me.
