Default RIP: Mitsuru Yamashita Shihan, Aikido Yoshinkai 7th dan

    Nothing was posted so .....

Mitsuru Yamashita Shihan passed away on April 14th. Yamashita Sensei has been head master of his dojo since 1968 when he was appointed the new leader by his teacher. This is the same dojo (not physical location) that Stan Pranin Sensei began his Aikido career. Sensei had just turned 79 years young. Yamashita Sensei's aikido journey began in 1958 at the age of 16 years old. In 2019, he was awarded 7th dan and the Shihan title by the Aikido Yoshinkai Foundation. You can learn more about Yamashita Sensei at www.sanbukan.com or via his FB page at https://www.facebook.com/mits.yamashita.

I was fortunate and blessed to have been his student for 18 years. He will forever be in my heart and apart of my own aikido. A great man in all aspects of the word "great".
