    Default Jujutsu on the Internet...

These are some of the better Jujustu sites I have found on the Net. It is by no means a definitive list and additions will be accepted.

These following sites, whilst not Jujutsu specific, have some very good Jujutsu information...

Note: Replies to this post will probably be deleted quickly, so if you want to discuss a particular site, start a new thread.

    Default Some additions...

These were sent to me for inclusion:

(These should be in the Aiki-jutsu forum, but the style is closely associated with Traditional Jujutsu)

(The recent, or since the last time I updated additions)

    (More additions - Oct 2008)

I should remind posters that we are essentially a Koryu Jujutsu site and so I generally won't leave gendai sites up for too long unless I believe that the information on them is exceptional.

    Default Jujutsu on the Internet

Seriously what is the difference between Hakko Ryu Jujutsu and Aikido? They both originated from Daito Ryu and from what Ive seen so far look almost identical.

    What sets them apart?

Well it will depend some on what style of Aikido, and the practicioner.

The joint locks are probably the most similar betwen the two, and AIkido is derived from Ju Jitsu.

Ju-Jitsu will work the elbow far more than in Aikido (which rarely does so).

The aikido I practice uses movement and flow to neutralize the 'second hand attack' and move you to a safe place. The Ju Jitsu was more about using strikes to neutralize the attacker, which in the Aikido world breaks the flow.

I think Ju Jitsu at a high level looks a lot like Aikido. I think it is tough to find a good instructor in each art.
