Question Aikido Authorising Orgs in the US

I am wondering what governing bodies are avaiable in the US to ask about a sensei - and his status here.

    Thanks in advance.

    Default Organizations

A list of world wide Aikido organizations exists on the Aiki Web site.

    http://www.aikiweb.com/general/affiliat.html

The problem is that the affiliations of questionable folks always seems to be with some organization that nobody has heard of. Also, a number of people have started out with solid credentials but have fallen out with their teachers and ended up going with an organization with which they have had no previous association. In a number of cases their enrollment in the new organization leads to a quick Dan promotion (especially if their school is large). So you have a person with somewhat exalted rank who belongs to an organization that no one from the mainstream takes seriously. At that point what does the ringing endorsement of the teacher by that organization actually mean. Not much.
