Default Yoshida's last fight with champion kickboxer.

ANy one catch that fight on the last Pride FC card. Yoshida fought K-1 champion Mark Hunt. Hunt was alot bigger than Yoshida, and one of the best kickboxers in the world.

Hunt and Yoshida fought in MMA rules, and Yoshida took Hunt out with a nice arm bar. Hunt had done his cross training, and did get out of a toe hold and an early armbar attempt the first time the fighters went to the ground.

But Yoshida was simply too well versed for HUnt, and he got him in a beauty of an armbar after taking Hunt down again.

It was one the most style vs. style match ups you could ask for, as Yoshida relies almost solely on his Judo skills to win fights (his strikes a pretty weak) and Hunt had just started his cross training in other martial arts.

Text book case of a striker fighting a grappler.

It was great fight on both ends! Yoshida always puts on a great show...he's the man. Give Hunt some time and he will be VERY good at MMA. He held his own for a while with Yoshida. In the ned, ground experience won, but an A for effort for Hunt.

Even though Yoshida lost to Silva, I believe that fight was his best.

I would not mind a few more Gracie fights (any of them) for Yoshida. Or Sakuraba v. Yoshida (years away if ever to happen).

I would love a third fight with Gracie. Both of their previous fights have left the viewer without a clear winner. THere has to be one fight in conclusion to put an end to this rivalry. One fight were one man is deemed the winner with no controversy.

It is also a fight that would be wildly popular in Japan and most of the world.

Which pride was the Yoshida Silva fight again? I'd like to watch it again. I remember after that fight thinking Yoshida was one tough SOB.

Considering the catch wrestling element that Sak has (via his Takeda Dojo background in general and his training with Billy Robinson in particular), a fight between him and Yoshida would indeed be interesting.

Heck, I'd like to see the two of them have a grappling-only match, ala Abu Dhabi.
