Wasn't sure whether to post it here or in the baffling budo section. Here it goes.
I visited a forum of sorts discussing the differences between, pros and cons of Kumdo(KKA) and Haedong Gumdo. In addition to claiming to be a nearly-2000-years-old traditional Korean swordsmanship, after reaching 4th dan they apparently learn a waza for blocking bullets. Ha ha, sounds like bad budo to you? Here's the link for any of you who can read Korean. http://kin.naver.com/browse/db_detai...09&docid=14734 By the way, Haedong Gumdo's claim to being a centuries-old traditional swordsmsnship was proven false in a court of law in a litigation between the founders in which one of them testified under oath that they made it up after reading Muyedobotongji. Here's the link: http://www.kumdo.org/news/read.php?no=132&p=1 Please, comments are welcome. Would love to hear what you people think. Legal disclaimer: While I have made every effort to make sure the info is legitimate and authentic, by the very nature of the internet, it's basically hearsay(except for the court transcripts regarding the historical claims of Haedong Gumdo). So, Haedong Gumdo - don't sue me! Keith Hong Kumdo/Kendo |

How's the bullet-blocking thing work, then?

Actually, you use a tapered titanium tanjo, and just jam it into the barrel while you scream the paralyzing shimdumgop kiai and kick him in the groin.
Funky mama!
