I read somewhere that Muso Gonnosuke has a traditional shrine somewhere in Japan but I've got no information on it whatsoever. Is there an online resource somewhere with more details? Thanks in advance.

Seriously though, I've done searches and only came up with such high quality information as: Quote:
I was hoping someone had a link to a site with more information on the shrine itself. Maybe tied to a Jodo organisation in Japan such as the Hozen-kai, or whoever is the designated caretaker of the shrine. Some photos would be nice as well.

Bonjour M. Hall,
You can look at this site: http://www1.linkclub.or.jp/~yukos/en...fu/d11jodo.htm , there are pictures of the shrine. Furthermore, in the following link you will find the same shrine with Otofuji sensei (seated in white): http://park5.wakwak.com/~asia/japan/joudou.htm . By the way, do you study jo at the Östersunds Budo Kai with Anna and Michaël? |

Please give my regards to Michaël, Anna and Monica for me. Unfortunately, I will not be participating in the Brazil International gasshuku this summer. Perhaps at the next Kagami biraki in Cartigny, I will have the pleasure of meeting and training with all of you. |

Dear Fred,
Muso Gonnesuke did stay some time at mount homan, near dazaifu. By train it takes you about twenty minutes from fukuoka. Every month the final saturday jodo people make keiko there, it is very nice over there, The name of the ginger is kamado ginger. First you have got some stairs to climb, after that you enter a small plain. The main temple is centered, the small shrine on the left is in reverence to the jodo hachiman. On the back of the ginger there is the mountain. When I make keiko there ,there is always a very pleasant mood visiting me. best regards bert sijben |

2. A jinja Japanese: 神社 is a Shinto shrine and its surrounding natural area. In common usage, jinja often refers to the buildings of a shrine. Unlike a church or a mosque, a jinja traditionally has neither characteristics of a chapel nor a place for propagation; its sole purpose is for the enshrinement and worship of a kami.

After having made some research, it is my guess that these gentlemen are two of Otofuji's menkyo kaiden of the Fukuoka line of Shintô musô-ryû jô. The one on the left is Namishi Seitoku, and on the right, Shinohara Takeshi. Namishi sensei teaches at the Meitokukan dôjô in Miyawaka in Fukuoka prefecture. |
