Default Kata Video Resources on the Internet

Herewith a consolidated list of some kata demonstration video resources available on the Internet. A source is quoted for each one of the 8 Kodokan recognised kata. The quality of performances not vouched for in every case.

    Hi, Guys and Ladies,

Llyr is great at finding the best of judo videos on the net, particularly kata (of course his specialty is IN kata, even the relative obscurity of the Go no Sen no Kata, Kodokan or not). My focus of late has been on kata and videos can be of great value as long as one has an experienced kata instructor to help make the experience in more than one or two dimensions. I don't know if this is related to aging or not, but I have really enjoyed doing the kata I know again (and having someone to correct me and who doesn't take any crap about it) and the superior kata I did not know expect for the self-defense aspects I'd learned as a kid in the early 1960s.

It is tiring but fun, just like randori no kata was in the beginning.

    John,

I like your sig. That would be in reference to yourself, right?

In regard to your profile, are you doing some form of gendai jujutsu based in judo, or, is it older, eg, koryu jujutsu (I need to read more public profiles)? Again, curiosity has caught my missing, elderly cat (which is true, that is,
regarding the cat who IS strictly an indoor feline. It did not kill her but she did suffer from severe weight loss and some kind of anemia).

OK, that really is more than you need to know.

Oh, just to explain the avatar I've been using: I did get the idea from Llyr, but it is a common sign of what it is one's doing. If this is a problem for anyone including Llyr, let me know and I will take it down. I had used it on other message boards so I took a shot because I do so love judo. I used to have a picture of Kano Jigoro, but lost it after doing some "house cleaning."

Thanks to all who have donated threads to keep this forum alive during my absence. I will try to do better than I have in recent months.
