Talking Kenbo

Stolen off of the iaido-L list:

Kenbo
Aerobic Swordsmanship
Kenbo is a no contact workout using a weighted sword with which students perform a series of prearranged forms that offer an excellent cardiovascular workout combined with rigorous strength and flexibility exercises. Working in conjunction with the rhythmic arcs of the sword, Kenbo is done to music with an upbeat style designed to be fun and energetic. Daryl Rolando has been teaching Japanese style swordsmanship since 1990 in the metro area and is a well-established instructor in Bushijutsu, the art of the samurai. Materials fee includes the purchase of a practice sword.

Unhappy Great Aerobic Exercises!

BASEBO
Swinging weighted baseball bats and running in circles with music.

BASKETBO
running back and forth while bouncing a ball set to music

BIKEBO
riding a special yellow bike that goes nowhere. set to music

VOLLYBO
Hitting a ball into the air set to music

TAICHIBO
Doing very slow martial arts moves set to music

DOGWALKBO
walking your dog listening to a walkman

Needless to say you need the correct Bo-wear for each of these activities and an accredited instructor to properly do them. Video instruction forthcoming.
