I believe either gives you strength, and focus. Just because its a good thing (love) doesn't mean its stronger.
It's nice to know that the swords can withstand the test of time. I'm pretty satisfied with my Iaito, and am curious to see what a shinken handles like. My sensei still uses an Iaito I think. Around...
Why do you need to protect your feet? To my understanding, moving around in Kendo requires you to shuffle your feet just off the floor, not actually having contact with the floor. If this is done...
Tgace, you're the one that seems paranoid to me. You basically suggest avoiding nightlife to prevent running into trouble.
I wonder why engineers never come under this category of highly respected professionals. Maybe the work we do is not noticed by most...
Well I'm ABOUT to get out of uni, so I hope it wasn't all a waste!
EDIT: It seems like all genders from all races are there... Except Asian females. I wonder why? =P
From my limited experience, I think it's a bit of both. Cuts/offense from both schools seem to use the same maai. Defending, however, I think Sugino-ha has a slightly larger maai (hence they seem to...
Yeah that video is not easy to find because the tags are mispelt!
I can't seem to find the videos of shuriken-jutsu and jujutsu. Can someone help me find it? =)
But those two gyogo iai kata are consistently the only ones that are ever shown from that set of kata. So I suppose its still a rule =P
In my limited understanding, this method of chiburi is useful to maintain your centre. It does the job and does not create openings.
Hahah yeah! I take it thread necromancy is okay on this forum?
Wow that was really impressive! I can see a lot of similarities to some koryu too!
I just made sure that my work will take me where there is lots of Koryu =). Plan in advance, and have koryu availibility as a side effect, not a primary goal!
^Are there dojo in Australia regarding this? Where?
I tend to think of iai kata as more a scenario, rather than a story. But that's just me.
You could just wear shoes =P
I don't like this statement on the website:
"Please do not contact us to request other details of Karato Ryu’s history, lineage or curriculum because you will not receive a reply. This attitude...
In my opinion, Hatakeyama-ha is a second generation branch from the main line. I can't give much information on it though...
I've seen this argument a few times and don't necessarily agree with it. I spend much time online, but I still manage to get a lot of training done. Unless you are referring to training 12 hours a...
I was thinking about the various martial arts that I'd want my (possible) child to learn, and concluded that judo is the way to go.
Personalyl I think it depends on what style the teacher learnt prior to 'founding' the art. You can't create something from nothing.
The trailer was really cool! I can't find out where to get the movie though... any hints?
They can fight... but can they act? =)
