I very much agree. These videos are supposedly available on DVD now.
I mean with the exception of Iwata sensei. I mean people like the late
Takeshima sensei and other senior teachers currently...

I was introduced to these sets on seminars with Tose-sensei of IMAF.
Can't say I practice them regularly, but as my knees have been bad it
has been part of my standing waza practice. Getting slowly...

It is very sad news indeed. Unfortunately I have seen very little of the genuine Kochi style MJER, either live or on film. If that situation will change anytime soon remains to be seen.

Just a few days after this event was over (sadly couldn't attend this time, either) I received the DVD from the first one ;-)
It will be interesting to see some more of my original school of iai...

I do practice MJER to the best of my ability (and used to do Mugai Ryu also
- but my technique sucks as I have forgotten more about this school than a
lot of people!). Not many of us over here of...

I'm looking into ways of being able to go for this event,
at least for a visit and hopefully some of the seminars.

Whether or not that claim is true, I don't really know and had no reason to doubt as it was never emphasized on any seminar I have attended over the years.

However, Yamaue Sensei is pretty good...
