is he compensating for something?
Ien,
I know the guy who runs the Club at the Mainz Uni, so I feel justifed in commenting. Also the guy is a friend of mine. Now, the club at Mainz is not a Kenjutsu club nor is it an Iaido...
Just chiming in on my trainig though I'm also only running a training group and not a dojo.
With my group I have different classes with a different subject in all. I have two unarmed classes. One...
Leif,
I'll know at the end of the month. I Move in September. I have looked at it a few more times though and it's great. Plenty of room to geet beered up and watch The Aikido Video you have :)
Just to add a few things to what Evan said (How's it going Evan), What gets taught to beginers is to an extent up to the group/Dojo. I personally really save the Kata for students who have gotten a...
Leif,
Okay, stay calm. Breathe deep and move away from the post icon. :D
Mr Harper,
It has nothing to do with my room. I just don't feel I can really teach larger groups and I...
Mr Lindsy,
Hi there. I'm Chris Baker, the guy doing Jinenkan stuff in Germany, so I guess I can answer some of the questions.
Actually the Kyu system is pretty easy to explain. First...
Eric,
Sorry, I misunderstood what you meant. I thought "List of techniques" refered to haviing nothing more than a scroll (ie the kata are basically gone and the person only gets a makimono)....
Hi Eric,
Though it's not something that happens a lot, being Soke of more than one Ryu does happen from time to time. One example off the top of my head is Koroda Tetsuzan. Also, Shinto Muso...
Eric,
I have to chime in here. I have the artical in question in front of me right now and I'm afraid I can't see anything about them creating the name Togakure Ryu. It does say that they...
Given that Manaka Sensei is very open with information,
I would suggest you go to his web site and just send him an e-mail.
www.jinenkan.com
BTW, It may some times take a while to get back to...
I had the same problem. Can any one tell me why that's happening. I don't thiink I got anyone in TSKSR mad at me.
Chris.
Having been instructed not too long ago in the Jojutsu of the Kukishin Ryu I thought I'd chime in. As I was taught, the Jo of Kukishin Ryu is basically a compination of the strikes from both Sanjaku...
Mr Palazzo,
I seem to have lost your e-mail. Could you please send it to me again?
Hi all, I was just wondering if anyone can point me to Sword smiths in Germany or inside the EU.
Thanks.
Just to add one more thing, there has been a new development from Pual Chen called the PK Plus as I understand which has a removable Tsuka. I don't know who's selling them though.
Okay, I know that this has probablly been asked at least 30 thousand times but I thought I'd just go ahead and ask again. I was wondering what is the real difference between Aikijujutsu and simple...
The videos are not for the Jinen ryu. They are study note videos for othr ryu Manaka Sensei teaches.
I here you there. I can't even find things like Hakama here. I found a Golden Oreole Katana in a local shop. I was amazed until I saw the Price, 2400 DM!
When I say Ryuha here in Meenz people...
"Yup, they're pricy indeed. Aside fron the source you mentioned, is there really no other manufacturer?"
That I know of, no. But then I really buy all of mine from Manaka Sensei. I get a discount...
Hallo Herr Bellinghausen, Grüß aus Mainz :).
Okay, i just wanted to say that Bujin Design sells Fukuro Shinai through the internet. They're a little pricey IMHO. Also Manaka Sensei sells them from...
The local Kumdo student here says the main difference is that in Kumdo, the peoson loses when you score the first and only point of the match.
Another Ryu in Japan that uses a long tsuka is Kage Ryu. However it should be noted that the sword itself is also much longer than normal as well.
Just a few more things to throw out on the subject. As I understand the situation, though there is much I don't know about the Bujinkan, Jutaijutsu and DakenTaijutsu are fairly new terms that Hatsumi...
Mr Harden,
Sorry about the name bit, I'm writing from a computer Cafè and this computer can't support a thread this big. Thank you for your corrections though. I look forward to reading what...
