Thanks for that David,
By Kacchu Yawara I was thinking of that nijuichi kajo on the Shimazu Sensei DVD. I thought the 'jujutsu' was seperate to the kacchu yawara. I guess thats my ignorance from...
On the Genbukan site it mentions that Michael Coleman has a Shoden Menkyo in YSR! From his book, he doesn't seem to mention about any weapons training. In the Genbukan Taikai DVD he demonstrates...
Thanks Greg,
I guess the advantage of these TaiKais is that if your below Sandan (or not doing ryu-ha at Shodan level etc), it lets you study a bit of ryu-ha.
Wish I was there.
Getting back...
Thanks George,
I was sure it was in the USA.
Thanks for confirming that.
Do you know if Sato Sensei taught any other ryu-ha at that TaiKai (Asayama Ichiden ryu/Araki shin ryu etc)?
Thanks

Cheers Jeremy,
Any other tips on Koho Tenkai?
I never thought that I would give it a go but now I'm thinking about trying it.
Thanks
Greetings from Australia.
Hi everyone,

Thanks to everyone for your input,
Besides Muso Jikiden Eishin Ryu Iai most of my kobudo knowledge comes from more Takamatsu-den/Ueno lines (Genbukan/KJJR).
Even though I'm a keen reader when it...
Hi Sven,
I was told that Sonkyo has Shinto origins and dated back to early times, I'm not 100% sure of this but I was quite surprised to see Tatsumi ryu doing it, Tatsumi ryu had an effect on the...
Hi all,
Just watched the Tatsumi ryu dvd produced by the Nihon Budokan and noticed that they do Sonkyo before Kenjutsu kata. I understand that Sonkyo goes back way before the development of modern...
Hi all,
I am very sorry to hear of the passing of Harada Sensei. I never trained under him or any of his students, but I would read whatever information I could find on his system.
Sorry if its bad...
Yeah the guy at first glance was a bit of a goof, or as we would say in Australia a "bogan" (like the hicks of the U.S.).
The best things in my opinion that he did were usually behind the scenes,...
