1st dan in 9 months.
I was in jujitsu class, and my sensei was telling me about this guy who trained 9 days a week and got to 1st Dan in 9 months!!! Is it me..or is that something to be proud of? :p

Is it true that because BJJ and Judo were derived from traditional Jujitsu they are the lesser versions of the art they were derived from?

Not all martial arts are STRICTLY used for defence only...so if your looking for a martial art with defense as its main point...then i would say jujitsu :D
