Default Shuri Ryu Karate and Shitoyoshinkai Jui Jitsu

Can anyone tell me the origins of Shuri Ryu Karate? I have been out of martial arts practice for a good ten or so years, and I am trying to make my way back. There is a local school that teaches Shuri Ryu Karate and Shitoyoshinkai Jui Jitsu. All that I read on Shuri states that the head of the style is or was Robert Trias. I want to make sure that this is a legitimate Japanese school. Also, I know this is the Karate forum, but if anyone has info on Shitoyoshinkai Jui Jitsu, I'd be interested in that too.

I studied Shotokan Karate for three years and TKD for 7 (and was promoted 2nd dan before I found out that my instructor was never even a shodan...which is why I am trying to be careful as I start over. )
    Thanks.

    Shuri-ryu Karatedo:

Lots of information on Shuri-ryu. It's been around for a while. It's a good, solid style of karatedo. However, like everything else, there are bad Shuri dojos (and the trend seems to be getting worse). Sadly, many of their dojos have gone the commercial route. With this style, you must be careful. But, if you find a good Shuri-ryu teacher you can learn good karate.

    Shintoyoshinkai Jiu Jitsu:

http://www.americanbudokaiinternatio.../Director.html (Steve Roensch--student of Grose. Roensch studies Shuri-ryu and has been associated with them for years. His is most likely the teacher of the sensei of the school that you are inquiring about.)

Thank you. Steve Roensch did teach the instructor at my local school, and the local instuctor is one of the teachers in the American Budokai International. I also appreciate the help with the Shuri Ryu. I had seen that site, and it appears from there that Trias created Shuri Ryu after studying in Okinawa. Again, thanks for the help.
