I was having a discussion with someone and they said that there is Japanese martial art training that is in likeness to Chinese Drunken Style. He said it was Surakan or something?

The Japanese for drunken fist 醉拳 can be read as "suikan" in romaji.

That doesn't mean there is a Japanese drunken fist style.

But I have seen plenty of drunken sensei in all arts. I remember one well known east coast aikido sensei who mastered the drunken part so much, he missed the morning session at his own seminar in Seattle a number of years ago.

Some of the Goguryu sesnei on Okinawa would teach this, at least from my memories; but that was 50 years ago!

I only remember it from my time living there 50 years ago, Internet was not popular then.

Yes, my son of 21 years in the Navy, is back in the middle-east; hopefully for the last time before retiring.
