    Hello All,

I'm a military guy and will be moving to the Scott AFB (near St Louis) area this summer. I'm in hopes of linking up with some traditional Ju-Jutsu folks there. Can anyone help? Any assistance is appreciated.

    Hi Roy,

Took me a moment to realize you're talking about IL rather than MO!

A web search turned up a Danzan-ryu dojo at this address, which is about 45 miles east of St. Louis, IL:

Oak & Willow Academy, 603 East College Street, Greenville, IL, 62246, 618-664-3337, Philip Stoecklin, HJS http://www.greenvilleusa.org/location.htm

Unfortunately we have no Hakkoryu shihans in IL at this time.

    Good luck on your search,

    Devon

I'm not sure if I can help, but there is someone I know in the Aurora area of Illinois, former military (army, I think, but what can you do?), and his background is in judo, but he seems to know who's who in his and other areas.

Try first: http://www.concentric.net/~budokai or email budokai@concentric.net . The name is Don Cunningham. He has written resently a book on weapons of jujutsu. You will get an annoying popup to buy his book, but after that, you can check out the memberlist and see what is there.

    Good Luck!

PS: If there are koryu jujutsu dojo in your basic area, he just may know of them.
