26th Kisei

Howdy!

Each game of the 26th Kisei is being shown live on the IGS Go server. Tonight (01/29 - U.S. time zones), will be the 1st day of the 3rd game.

Eastern time: 7:00 pm
Central: 6:00 pm
Mountain: 5:00 pm
Pacific: 4:00 pm

Tomorrow, will be the 2nd day of the 3rd game at the same times. (Each day results in approximately 8 hours of play, so you can log in about anytime within 8 hours of the start and see whats going on.)

"Kisei" means Go Saint and is the highest paying professional Go tournament in Japan (can you say ... around 300,000 big ones$?$).

This years Kisei is turning into a closely contended match with alot of interesting play.

BTW, since the Kisei is a best of 7 game series with 2 days used for each game ...

... this is a wonderful opportunity for e-budo folks to log in, set up an e-budo channel to chat in, and watch the game.

Anyone interested?

Plus, big events like this result in many people of varying strengths logging into the Go server. Alot of these folks alternate playing games and watching the main event. Should you play a game, the e-budo folks can watch and discuss your games.

The rest of the Kisei schedule on IGS is as follows:

4th game Feb 13 and 14 Aichi, Japan
5th game* Feb 20 and 21 Hokkaido, Japan
6th game* Mar 6 and 7 Shizuoka, Japan
7th game* Mar 13 and 14 Shiga, Japan

* If needed.


Viewing live from the U.S.A., the dates would be for the night previous. I.E. Feb 13 game start in Japan would be viewed live in the U.S.A. on the evening of Feb 12, due to time differences.

The time breakout for U.S. time zones is the same as my earlier post:

Howdy!

The 26th kisei is finished. O Rissei took game 6 and wins the match 4-2. Thats about 250,000 big ones ($) for O Rissei. It's unfortunate that Ryu Shikun made his errors in game 5 or this match would be tied up right now.
